Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS)
Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS) is a non-profit community based organization that provides early intervention, counselling, and support for young people and families at risk on Sydney’s North Shore.
KYDS aims to improve the health and well being of young people at risk and provides counselling and support for youth dealing with issues ranging from depression, family breakdown, alcohol and drug usage, and peer pressure. It is based at the Lindfield Library and was founded by the Rotary Club of Lindfield.
Dr Brendan Nelson. has been a very strong supporter of KYDS and the Rotary Club of Lindfield’s initiative to provide this service to the local community since its inception. Dr Nelson has participated in fundraisers for KYDS including the annual Lindfield fun run and has actively encouraged community members and the federal government for funding contributions to the program.
